Aziz Ansari is back with a new stand up special!  Aziz Ansari: Dangerous and Delicious airs on Comedy Central on May 20th at 10:00pm ET/PT with an extended uncensored version available for streaming on May 22nd.  Filmed at the Warner Theater in Washington DC, the Parks and Recreation co-star talks about his frustration with women, 50 Cent's lack of grapefruit knowledge and stories about his strange and beautiful cousin Harris.

Get your DVR fired up, or do Comedy Central a solid and watch Dangerous and Delicious live and  laugh your ass off.  Also, if you need to see Ansari up close and in the same airspace immediately, Aziz's Buried Alive tour is currently underway. Aziz Ansari to Host MTV Movie Awards

It's been made official: Aziz Ansari will be hosting the MTV Movie Awards. The event will air live from Universal City's Gibson Amphitheater on June 6th. With Aziz being one of the best things on Parks and Recreation, plus that fact he's super funny, this is a most exceptional choice.

Aziz Ansari

The breakout star of the summer is Aziz Ansari. How cool is that? A cameo appearance in the Judd Apatow film Funny People as stand up Raaaaaaaandy has given him a bump, spawning viral video shorts on FunnyorDie.com of the brash, "merch" flogging comedian. The character is a loud, fast talking jokester with stories of sexual encounters, macho prowess all accompanied by a DJ who punctuates his verbiage with hip hop stings. Do I sense a bit of Dane Cook-ery here? All attitude, shouting, strutting and gesticulating but when you hear what he's actually saying - there's no funny? Perhaps. Judging from interviews Aziz denies any Cook impression, but that's not to say he wasn't inspired. Ansari has already honed his mockery skills on MTV's Human Giant by co-creating a spoof of Criss Angel's silly Mind Freak antics with Paul Scheer in "The Illusionators" sketches.

His portrayal of Tom Haverford, an apathetic bureaucrat on NBC's Parks and Recreation who likes to make the moves on the ladies is pretty spot on considering I've met a few. After only six episodes, he's emerged as one of the funny highlights in an ensemble cast I hope will be allowed to flourish in the same vibe as The Office. (Poehler, much like Carell, is the star, but might be overshadowing the rest of the P&R group as Leslie Knopes, whereas Michael Scott has been the beacon to many other quirky characters who stand out equally.)

We have more Aziz to see in the upcoming year. In addition to the Raaaaaaandy love, the NBC sitcom and many of his own stand up performances (as himself), he's slated to appear in Apatow's next feature Take Him To The Greek, starring Russell Brand due out in 2010.

Hopefully he'll find the time to work on season three of Human Giant. Please?

New Pilot for Fox: The Station

Pretty cool news, this...

Ben Stiller will be Executive Producing a comedy pilot for Fox Television about about CIA operatives in South America called The Station. David Wain (Wainy Days Stella) will direct. As for the cast, John Goodman (Roseanne, The Big Lebowski) has just signed on to star. Joining him will be comedian Whitney Cummings (who I saw at the Hollywood Improv last month opening for my funny friend Bryan Callen and she killed), Justin Bartha, the missing groom, found sunburned on the roof of Caesar's in The Hangover, Julio Oscar Mechoso, and the awesome Rob Huebel (Human Giant) who should be appearing on Michael and Michael Have Issues in upcoming weeks and currently appearing in the video below.
