Childrens' Hospital Sneak Peek "Eulogy"
The season finale of Childrens' Hospital is this Thursday on Adult Swim.

Childrens Hospital Webisode of the Day
There was once a time when Childrens' Hospital was a webseries with its own webisodes. In an odd twist, this Emmy Award winning television series on Adult Swim, with mini-episodes of crazy good fun has spawned webisode extras, which can be seen before each regular episode of the Hospital drama spoof on Thursday nights at midnight. (Word of the day: Episodes)
The lastest webisode asks, "What if Everyone Forgot Each Other's Names?"
The video above is perhaps my favorite of this season's webisodes because I am genuinely bad with names. And it proves that if this neighbor, whose name I cannot remember, ever said "Hey girlfrieeeend" with the same maniacal, frightening evil smirk as he does in this video, I would have nightmares every night of my life.

'Nancy and Beth' on 'Conan'
One of the coolest things in Los Angeles is Largo at the Coronet in West Hollywood. One of the coolest things you can do is go see Megan Mullally (Childrens' Hospital) and Stephanie Hunt at Largo tonight. This music and style captures the pure essence of Largo LA.

Jon Hamm Goes Back in Time

Hamm has already appeared on the Adult Swim series as Derek Childrens, the illegitimate son of the hospital's founder, who in an absurd way, exists undercover as Dr. Valerie Flame, played by Malin Akerman. Yes, the lady is really a dude.

Comic Con Spawned Some Panels: Adult Swim Favorites
Comic Con is over. I didn't go. In fact, I'll probably never be able to attend since tickets get sold early in the year before I can even think of SDCC, and the idea of being committed to hotel bookings so far in advance is nuts to me. But if you were there and missed the cast of Childrens' Hospital, Adult Swim provides. The new season of Childrens' premieres on August 9th at midnight. The cast took the stage for some Q&A during the conference.
NSTF:SD:SVU, the hard hitting, gut busting answer to all procedural cop dramas will return on the same night, same channel after Childrens' Hospital. Here's the NTSF cast at SDCC.

Adult Swim's Upfront Explosion
Adult Swim has the type of comedy programming I can get behind. Weird, disturbing, hilarious, and dare I say it - groundbreaking. Here are some new shows (mostly live action) we fans of top notch strange, fun and icky comedy can believe in for the upcoming season.
Robot Chicken's sixth season begins this Fall. This well written, star studded show is stop motion action at it's best. Silly, stupid, absurd - it sends up pop culture and wins all kinds of Emmy awards for the taking. Some of the guests stars voicing the weird and wonderfulness will be Elizabeth Banks, Gillian Jacobs, Stanley Tucci, Olivia Wilde, and Jon Stewart.
NTSF:SD:SUV is back this August for a second season of insane cop procedural parody. Special Agent Trent Hauser, (Paul Scheer) and his elite team of counter-terrorist specialists return for more explosions and blood. This year we'll be see time travel, robot murders and talking dogs. Have you ever wanted to see a killer Santa Claus? Done. NTSF:SD:SUV premieres this August.
The Heart She Holler is returning for a second season. I don't know how to write about it than this: This show is a live action horror soap opera with whole lot of holy crap and a big dose of what the fuck. Patton Oswalt is a mutant man-child who inherits the town of Heart She Holler from his late wealthy insane father who communicates to him via video tape from the dead. Kristen Schaal and Heather Lawless are his horrifying sisters. You'll laugh hysterically and then take 10 hot showers. It's bizarro.
Childrens' Hospital. What can I say? This show rules the Adult Swim airwaves. Back for its fourth season, the medical "drama" will go further than it has ever gone before - to jolly England with a British version of the legendary show! Also, the search for the mysterious PA announcer Sal Viscuso unveils an evil so fierce it takes over the hospital. They'll be deadly airborne viruses, a beloved doctor will die over and over again, and Sy adopts a dog! Season four of Childrens' Hospital will premiere in August.

'Childrens' Hospital' Spinoff
Newsreaders, that quirky 60 Minutes parody on Childrens' Hospital, has been granted its own spinoff! Adult Swim has ordered the show straight to series, and will continue to star Mather Zickel as host Louis La Fonda. The showrunner will be Jim Margolis, and Childrens' Executive Producers Rob Cordry, David Wain and Jonathan Stern will continue in those roles.
Here's an episode of Children's Hospital featuring Newreaders, "The End of the Middle".

Childrens' Hospital Renewed for Season 4

Adult Swim has renewed the Childrens' Hospital for a fourth season. Not a surprise since it's an insanely good show that has killed in the ratings, bringing in viewers within television's sweet spot - 18-49 year olds (and people of other age groups and sizes) who crave good comedy. Production will begin later this year, and the show will air in 2012, sending creator and star Rob Corddry, plus executive producers Jonathan Stern and David Wain back to work with their cast of regulars.
"I'm very pleased and honored by this announcement," said Corddry. "I'm also very surprised, given that I write this when I'm very, very drunk. Season four promises to be a cry for help."
"And people wonder why our economy is a mess," said Stern.

Childrens' Hospital: Chief's Mole Watch

Let's review. A few weeks ago, a mole was found hovering on top of Chief's face in the forehead region. Then the jaunty little brown speck was found living on her left cheek. Now it exists on the right.
This is dumb. Yet, so very important.

Spot the Mole
As Childrens' Hospital builds into a popular fringe comedy, gags are developing into fun, must see moments. Whether it's Cat's desire to perfect the perfect impersonation of a Puerto Rican woman, Michael Cera as the voice over the PA, or Nurse Dori walking around thinking she's really fat when she's really 8 months pregnant, this show fits in little "easter eggs" of fun filled details that only idiots like me notice.
Megan Mullally, who plays Chief, began the series during its webisode days as the lovely looking handicapped head of Childrens' ER. The day that Mullally found a man's wig in a shop on Hollywood Boulevard was the day Chief would evolve from lovely Mullally-like beauty, into an attractive short haired bridge troll.
Now, through the magic of show biz makeup, Chief has a new friend. A mole. It started on her forehead a few weeks ago....
...and it has now traveled to her cheek....
Where will it travel next? Will it evolve into a mustache? A goatee? Or will it find it's mojo, get bigger, catch charisma and have it's own TV show?

'Childrens' Hospital' Panel at UCLA

On hand to promote the new season of the Adult Swim comedy that begins airing tomorrow night at midnight (and to give away seasons 1 & 2 DVDs) were executive producer Jon Stern, director and sometimes guest star (Dr. Jewy McJewJew) David Wain, creator Rob Corddry, and stars Megan Mullally, Rob Huebel, Malin Akerman, Ken Marino, Erin Hayes and Nick Kroll.
An upcoming episode entitled "The Night Shift" (directed by Rob Schrab) was screened, where the staff discovers, while working a rare night shift, their OR turns into a film location for porn in the wee hours. It featured Paul Scheer, who returns as Dr. Downs' bad boy brother. Kroll, who had an arc as a child with aging disease in seasons one and two, showed up as a smarmy East European doctor who floats Dr. Cat Black's boat. However, due to technical problems, we were unable to view the rest of the episode. Bummer.
Despite the small attendance and the technical glitches - which the very funny cast accustomed to improv worked to their benefit - the awkward evening turned out to be fun. Students were in love with the beautiful and amazing Mullally, who portrays the head of surgery, aka "Chief", asking to come up to the stage for hugs and photos. Erin Hayes and Malin Akerman are truly funny ladies who know how to do sexy, lady comedy nerd right (Olivia Munn, take note). Rob Corddry revealed some guest appearances in season 3 such as Michael McKeon, Sarah Silverman, Parks & Rec's Nick Offerman, House's Lisa Edelman, plus (*Spoiler Alert*) the scoop on a Party Down reunion.
The Questions/Answers filled the night with great stories and information on how the show is written and shot (they break stories over a period of time, and shot this season in December); yet, the one mystery a few students wanted to solve was the Michael Cera conundrum. He's credited in every show, but never appears. Viewers with sharp ears can confirm that Cera is the announcer who makes funny cracks over the hospital P.A., a pretty important element to the twisted atmosphere. Despite never seeing him - he's a key character that goes by the name Sal Viscuso. (An interesting bit of trivia is that that the P.A. announcements in Childrens' Hospital are an homage to the P.A. announcements on M*A*S*H. And the name of the man who did them? Sal Viscuso.)
So, I learned the following at UCLA last night:
- Students love Salvia.
- Young adults that go to a good university actually skip going to funny television show forums to stay home and study. Win for America. Neg for comedy.
- As per Nick Kroll, The League on FX will premiere in September.
- UCLA has a Jamba Juice in their food court.
- Mics don't always work.
- David Wain is married to Zandy Hartig, who plays the vacuous and funny Nurse Dori on the show.
- Video SNAFU's suck.
- As per Wain, the 10th Anniversary of Wet Hot American Summer is upon us. Go to www.wethotamericansummer.com to join the anniversary fun.

'Childrens' Hospital' Will Not Judge You

Ok, so that Judgment Day thing didn't happen last Saturday. But aren't you glad you weren't swooped up to heaven, or left behind to be prodded by the forks of little devils who look like tiny Harold Campings for eternity? For on this wondrous day in the kingdom of comedy, we can rejoice: Childrens' Hospital: Complete First & Second Seasons has been released to the world on DVD. A rainbow of funny episodes stretching back to the original web series will beam before your eyes. There will be ladies kissing, and men groping in closets. People will smoke cigarettes and boogie in the hospital parking lot.
And DVD extras! Oh there will be DVD extras! Rob Coddry interviews himself as Dr. Blake Downs. There's a gag reel and cast commentary and lots of scrubs on scrubs action.
So, spend some personal time with really randy, funny, fake doctors who know how to make comedy pitch perfect.
