Whither 'Party Down'?

Party Down fans will love this! Adam Scott and Lizzy Caplan have been cast in an indie feature from Sanchez Productions called The Bachelorette. It will focus on a group of old high school friends who get together for the wedding of a friend. Will Farrell and Adam McKay will produce. Kirsten Dunst and Casey Wilson are also attached to the project.

I am still traumatized by the cancellation of Party Down. It got to the point that when I recently moved and ordered cable, I refused to include the Starz channel on my package. The joke's on them: Cult status on the show is growing, and the idea of a Party Down movie has been mentioned by various cast members.

Until that elusive and mythical feature is created, we can enjoy Caplan and Scott's cool chemistry under the hands of McKay and Farrell. Since Adam will be playing Lizzy's former high school crush, perhaps those hilarious sparks will fly.

A 'Daily Show' Surprise

August is upon us, and it's week number two on Jon Stewart's dastardly handsome goatee. New episodes of Childrens Hospital is on the horizon, a new season of Mad Men is currently airing and summer movies are being released into the sea of sweaty humanity. The latest Adam McKay flick, The Other Guys, starring Will Farrell, Mark Wahlberg (and what? Rob Riggle?) is opening this Friday. This movie was filming all over the New York area last year, so I'm pretty stoked to see it.

Farrell has been doing the PR rounds and landed on The Daily Show last night, bringing with him a surprise guest. Spoiler: It's former Daily Show correspondent Rob Riggle!

SNL: Update Thursday and Election Brings Back More Cast from the Past

Will Farrell, perhaps the best George W. Bush impersonator ever, made an appearance on last night's SNL "Update Thursday". Joining him was Tina Fey, channeling Sarah Palin.



More good stuff on SNL. In the same spirit of Farrell and Fey, Maya Rudolph will be re-joining the SNL cast this Saturday to portray Michelle Obama.



Also, the happiness continues. "Mad Men's Jon Hamm will be hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend with musical guest Coldplay.
