David Letterman Time Warp

Back in 1980, I was too young or too tired to stay up for The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson where David Letterman was a frequent guest host. So, I was unaware of this gap tooth guy until one summer vacation morning I tuned into his new show. It was comedy love at first sight. David Letterman's Morning Show on NBC didn't last long. It was canceled a few months later after almost burning down it's own studio. NBC kept him on until they gave him the Late Night spot. And the rest is history.
