Even low ratings and bad reviews won't stop NBC from canceling "Kath and Kim". They just picked up an entire season's worth of episodes. It's either one of two things: High expectations and an aggressive promotional campaign will not allow NBC brass to admit they have a failure - or - they are actually giving a show they feel has potential a chance.

Fox Cancels "King of the Hill", ABC Possible Suiter
Fox gave the axe to animated comedy "King of the Hill" last week, but ABC is waiting in the wings for a possible pick up.

CBS is Becoming a Ratings Winner
CBS has been number one in prime time among the 18 - 49 year olds, a demographic they are not focusing on. Moonves attributes it to programming being like "comfort food".
