Nielsen Trouble
NYTimes.com is reporting that television networks haven't received ratings information from Nielsen Media Research since Saturday due to a major computer malfunction. Bad news considering these number are not only needed to determine the renewal of television shows during the impending Upfront season, but they are also imperitive for station/affiliate compensation and make goods on shows pre-empted due to local programming. (NYTimes.com - Networks Frustrated over Ratings Delay). Neilsen is working "around the clock" to rectify the delay; however, time is wasting, and the network is chomping at the bit for this necessary info.
